Warmest Christmas Greetings from COTR!

Well, it is hard to believe that it is only a few days away. When we think about what Jesus did, it is amazing. The Son of God coming into the earth through such humble circumstances. The Son of God… born in a stable! Jesus did not need surface things to develop His authority among men. He would do that through the life He lived and the power and love it would demonstrate. Remember this Christmas that this is where it all started, Christmas Day.

60 Women Have Their Lives Transformed from the Women’s Encounter!!!
This past weekend, many of our ladies went away for the "Encounter Weekend" – 3 days of intense ministry that separates from the past and empowers the future. God did great things in the lives of all the ladies, just as He did a few weeks ago at the Men’s Encounter. Stay tuned for testimonies in our upcoming corporate meetings. Special thanks to all the ladies who went and to all the leaders who helped.

Sunday Celebration Report: Hundreds Accept the Faith Challenge
This past Sunday, many put their faith down on paper as they made a commitment to go after things in their life that God has callenged them about. The staff will be praying over these goals with you. So remember, faith is the first thing that begins to shape your future, and where there is agreement there is power!

No Turning Back – Part III

Christmas is on the Way!
It is hard to believe that Christmas is only 24 days from now. Now is the time to put the real meaning first in your hearts. It is a time of giving and celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

No Turning Back… Faith to Embrace Our Future Takes Hold at COTR
The last two weeks we have been laying the foundation for our theme for 2010, No Turning Back. We have looked at this from the perspective of the times in life where we come out of a season and we know we are a different person. We must recognize in those moments we must not go back to the past, and we must not linger endlessly where we are. We must make an effort to go forward into the future! It all starts with faith. It is the substance of what we are hoping for and the evidence of what is not yet seen. It is what allows God to go forth and shape our future long before we do or see anything in the natural realm. Since your faith shapes your future then be aware of what is shaping your faith! We listed 4 simple things Sunday that do this:
1) The deposit of God’s word in your heart,
2) The words you speak,
3) The company you keep,
4) The actions you take. If you were not here Sunday, please get the CD as this message on faith will stir your

Worship Revolution

Worship Revolution
For three weeks, we have talked about worship, and we have made a commitment to practice worship in our everyday life. It must flow out of our spirit and out of our relationship with Jesus Christ, and when it does, it has the power to renew and involve every part of us, spirit, soul, mind and body! Don’t forget our 3 challenges:
1. Worship God in private for 5 minutes a day
2. Come ready on Sunday and Wednesday to give God all you have in worship.
3. Look for situations throughout the week that where we can elevate out love and commitment to Christ of all things as an act of worship by how we respond to something before us.

Getting Our Worship On!

This past Sunday we continued our series, "Designed to Worship". We talked about the two sides of worship. Corporate and private concentrated worship is where we give God our undivided attention in worship. The other side of worship is having an attitude of worship in everyday life where we build altars of worship throughout the week when we give a Godly response to situations and we have a heart of worship in all things. I challenged the church to worship in their private time 5 minutes a day… bow, clap, shout, lift your hands and exalt God. I also challenged the church to come corporately ready to worship on Wednesdays and Sundays. Let’s get our worship on!

Searching for the “But Now” moment

This past Sunday, we talked about the story in Acts 27 about Paul being shipwrecked on his way to Rome . There is a moment in the story where Paul changes the course of the group. The scripture transition begins with the phrase “But Now.” We talked about showing courage and following God’s revelation over man’s reasoning. And most important, taking the time to remember what your original purpose was in the difficult circumstance you find yourself in. Look for your “But Now” moment!

Will You Go?

This past Sunday was the unofficial kick-off of our Missions Conference, which begins in full force tomorrow night. God asked us the question, "Will you go?" In Mathew 28, Jesus appeared to his disciples after his resurrection and gave them the challenge that has become known in modern times as the Great Commission. We have to respond to this call by Jesus to go all the way to the end of age, and make disciples of all nations. We look forward to welcoming guest missionaries from Sudan and South America for the Wednesday Connection and the Sunday Celebration. Also, join us for the CD Release Party, Thursday Night at 7:00pm, and an outdoor movie night this Saturday night.

COTR UPDATE

What a Weekend!
It started Saturday when 75 saints showed up at the campus clean-up and organization day. My wife, Lisa, was in charge of this event with Johnny Rice and they both wanted me to thank you for all the hard work. We were able to get so much done. Sunday morning was awesome as God ministered to us through the prayer, worship, and a word about coming to God’s table. Then Sunday night, we had a great turnout for the Servant Leadership Training of people serving on ministry teams and learning about different ministries they would like to serve on. God is so good! Here is what is coming up….
